Sometimes I feel uninspired to compose a blogpost, but I’ve decided ahead of time to write regularly, even when I feel like avoiding it. In the same way, I believe that every small group member should be committed to meeting, even when they don’t feel like it. Only over time and in hindsight will we see the fruit of our labor. I can tell you numerous growth stories of people that are thankful they committed to staying in their small group.
These days we are connected to more people, places and things vying for our attention. So it is all the more important that we are certain in our commitments and values. As Hebrew 10:25 says “And let us not neglect our meeting together, as some people do, but encourage one another, especially now that the day of his return is drawing near.“
Today’s post is a reminder for me to not neglect meeting with my small group through this holiday season. I’ve been busy with work meetings, lunches, dinners and parties, but I am committed to meeting with my group. I know they will have grace on me if I miss a day or two but will come after me before it becomes a habit. How committed is your group to meeting at least weekly?
